Welcome to the Institute of Human Genetics
We offer patients and doctors a wide range of services. Our human genetic counselling service provides detailed information to patients and their families. The diagnosis of genetic diseases is conducted in our laboratory using the most up to date molecular and cytogenetic technology. A main focus of the Institute is research into the genetic basis of disease, and the aim of our scientific work is to gain a deeper understanding of the molecular genetic causes of illness. This will result in future new approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Besides its functions in patient care and research, the Institute also plays an important role in the training of students and in the further education of doctors.
